Building Allen's Business Community Since 1960
Building relationships to enable our members to prosper!
The Allen Chamber of Commerce exists to help businesses grow, connect, and lead in one of Texas’s most dynamic communities. What started as the Downtown Business Association in the early 1960s has evolved into Allen’s premier business organization—advocating for policy, fostering connections, and empowering leaders at every stage of their journey.
Our Mission
The mission of the Allen Chamber of Commerce is to advocate, educate, and build relationships that enable our communities and members to prosper.
Our Vision
The Allen Chamber of Commerce’s vision is to be the indispensable resource for businesses in Allen and Collin County.
Our History
From traders banding together for protection to modern chambers driving community prosperity—the chamber movement has deep roots. The Allen Chamber of Commerce was formed from the original Downtown Business Association in the early 1960s, with Don Rodenbaugh serving as the first president. Though not incorporated until 1982, our purpose has remained constant: to accomplish for businesses what no individual or single business can do alone.
In 2010, we officially expanded to include Fairview, becoming the Allen Chamber of Commerce. Today, we proudly serve nearly 600 members with four full-time staff members, a 15-member elected board of directors, and six ex officio members, including city managers, school superintendents, and community leaders who provide guidance and oversight.

- Chairman’s Circle: Industry leaders shaping Allen's future.
Our Organizational Values:
The Allen Chamber serves our members and community with integrity and pride, continuously seeking improvement as we strive to be the best. We are dedicated to the success of our members and use Chamber resources purposefully and efficiently.
We treat each and every member with courtesy and respect, never forgetting that those individuals represent the base from which all Chamber operations grow. Companies become members because they desire to, not because they are required to. We celebrate the diversity of all individuals within our membership.
We hold positions of public trust. Our members have placed their confidence and trust in us, and we will uphold that trust through transparent operations and accountable leadership.
We work cooperatively as a team, always remembering that service to our members is what truly matters. We focus on results rather than recognition or organizational power.
We take the initiative to anticipate problems and issues, recommending proactive solutions for our Board’s consideration and the benefit of our members.
We utilize the Chamber’s resources purposefully and efficiently, never forgetting that our resources are derived from the investments and potential profits of our members.
As a 501(C)(6) non-profit business association, we are made up of business owners and citizens investing their time and money in true community development. We work collaboratively with the City of Allen, Allen and Lovejoy Independent School Districts, and the Allen & Fairview Economic Development Corporations to improve the economic, civic, and cultural strength of our region.
